Yahagi Dam Alternative loop route for Climbers Only
I am always looking for new roads to enhance the riding experience.
This week I added a great road to my "Road to Ride" collection!
It is the Road 403.
The Road 403 offers an alternative loop to the Yahagi Dam course.
Climbing the steep Road 403
From there, it is a steep climb of 15% average gradient for 4km.
When I say fast I mean fast like you go faster than the cars that uses the same road.
Turn left where there is a gasoline stand on your left. The road goes up again for 500m before going down all the way again.
This type of roads makes me proud of the 26" Road bike concept used on the Porthos Bike.
26" wheels are lighter than 700c, grip in corners is excellent and not forgetting that it is much more comfortable on little country side road.
The disc brakes are efficient at stopping the bike at high speed under any conditions even during long fast descent.
The First is Cafe "Tsuki Yui" (カフェ月結) that is open only on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.
The other place is "Sasayuri" Onsen (くしはら温泉ささゆりの湯) on top of the Mountain in Kushihara village.
Dinner last order is 7:30PM.
Onsen close at 9PM.
