One of the most memorable bike trip I have done is cycling the road around Okinawa Honto, the main island.
The people of Okinawa are great, the sightseeing is great, the food is great, the Awamori is great, the nightlife is great and the coastal road is... You might have guessed it at this point. Great.
Fat Memory: it was called Buggy Bike in the 70's
In the world of bicycle, Fat Bikes seems to be a fairly new trend, however, I have fond memory of Fat Bikes from my childhood.
When I was a child, once a week there was an Italian Action Comedy on TV featuring Terence Hill and Bud Spencer.
It was simple stories and funny gags, I liked it.
In the movie called "Across The Fields", there is a scene where Bud Spencer ride a Fat Bike, I mean a Fat Motor Bike.
Yahagi Dam Alternative loop route for Climbers Only
Whenever I got some spare time I look at Maps of the local areas wherever I go riding.
I am always looking for new roads to enhance the riding experience.
This week I added a great road to my "Road to Ride" collection!
Since few weeks ago I have been looking on the map at this little snaking road in the hills.
It is the Road 403.
The Road 403 offers an alternative loop to the Yahagi Dam course.
More pictures of Mr Koji's DeMonchaux Balthazar Ti Fat Bike.
It looks like it got more fat (the bike, not Mr Koji!)
Sea, Sun & Dancing Shrimps
September is one of the best time to ride a bicycle in Japan.
Days are still hot but the air is getting cooler.
Mr Piro's Mountain-Bike
One of the great thing with Titanium frames is that it last for ever and to know that all the frames we produced since are still rolling around is enough to make me happy doing what I do.
Balthazar, Ti & Fat MTB
DeMonchaux Bikes got Fat during the summer holidays!
It is Fat, but what an healthy Fat Bike!
Indeed, this fantastic Balthazar is a Full Order-Made Titanium MTB made for Mr Koji's (from Japan)
Riding the Mighty DeMonchaux Porthos On/Off Road
A great ride in the hills 40km away from Nagoya.
This trip is ideal for the All Mighty DeMonchaux Porthos and its 26" tires as the loop around the Dam is half smooth asphalt road and half lose gravel track.
A ride between Aichi and Gifu ken
In my quest to escape the summer heat and humidity, I went riding around the lake created by the Yahagi dam.
There are some quiet roads in the hills on the border between Aichi-ken and Gifu-ken. (Between Toyota city, Toki and Enna)
And I found a really nice riding place there! (40km from Nagoya)
Last night I received a quick message from Yusuke-San to tell me his pleasure of riding his DeMonchaux Saint-Malo Single-Speeder.
Yusuke-San rides his Single-Speed Saint-Malo every week in the hilly roads of beautiful Shizuoka-ken.
