Carl Fredrik Hagen is 1m80 tall, weighs 65kg at his peak form, and rides the Factor Ostro VAM size 54cm.
The Factor Ostro is marketed as an Aero Road bike, however, it is a very lightweight bike with the frame weighing 830g in size 54. It is the best of both worlds, lightweight and aerodynamic.
I have asked Hagen about his saddle height and will update this page as soon as he replies.
He got more important things to do right now during La Vuelta than to reply to my nerdy requests related to his bike fitting. So, let’s wait for the right time to update this page.
Update: Carl Fredrik replied to my message before starting stage 13 of the Vuelta a Espana. I am so thankful for this as I did not expect a reply during the Grand Tour. But hey! This is great!
There you go, Carl Fredrik Hagen’s saddle position is 745mm from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle.
Hagen’s Bike Fit
Nonetheless, I have the remaining information about
Carl Fredrik Hagen’s 2022 bike size.
Hagen uses a 0mm setback seat post from BlackInc, the parts brand of Factor, and a Selle Italia SLR saddle.
With the saddle fore set at 0mm, the saddle setback is 61mm. Again this will be adjusted when I get the saddle position confirmation from
Carl Fredrik.
The BlackInc stem has 120mm in length, and the handlebar width is 400mm.
Carl Fredrik Hagen uses a pair of Rotor cranksets of 175mm lengths with 54/40 Teeth Shimano Dura-Ace chainrings. Like the rest of the Israel – PremierTech team Hagen uses Shimano Dura-Ace SPD-SL pedals.
Tire Sealant and Ceramic Bearings
Hagen’s Factor Ostro VAM bike is assembled with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 12 speeds, disc groupset.
The wheels are the BlackInc brand, the rim height depends on the race’s profile. Hagen is using the BlackInc Forty on mountain stages with Maxxis High Road SL tubular tires filled with Orange Seal sealant.
The headset, bottom bracket, and wheels hubs bearings are the CeramicSpeed ceramic bearings. The rear derailleur is stock Shimano unlike in 2021 when it was tuned up with CeramicSpeed oversized jokey wheels.
What Carl Fredrik Hagen Wears
Carl Fredrik Hagen wears an HJC Furion helmet, Scion sunglasses, Jinga cycling Jersey and bib-shorts, Shimano S-Phyre RC902 cycling shoes in white color, and Shimano yellow cleats (SM-SH11).
The Israel – PremierTech does not have a cycling shoe contract, therefore each rider is free to wear shoes that fit him.
Among the team Israel-PremierTech, Patrick Bevin and Guillaume Boivin are also 1m80 tall and use the size 54cm Factor Ostro VAM frame.
The Factor Ostro VAM 2022 of Carl Fredrik Hagen cost approximately US$ 15,000.
